PART 2

The man introduced himself.

“I’m the hospital’s financial counselor.”

“I’ve been trying to reach your mother.”

The little girl looked nervous.

“Did something happen?”

He smiled.

“Yes.”

“Something wonderful.”

He opened the folder.

“Several anonymous donors…”

“…covered the remaining medical expenses this morning.”

The little girl blinked.

“Really?”

The counselor nodded.

“Someone shared your lemonade stand online.”

“Thousands of people saw it.”

The officer smiled.

“So Grandpa gets to come home?”

The counselor laughed.

“Yes.”

“And he already knows about the lemonade.”

Two weeks later…

Grandpa returned home.

His first stop wasn’t the living room.

It was the sidewalk.

Together…

He and his granddaughter built a brand-new lemonade stand.

But they changed the sign.

It no longer listed a money goal.

Instead, it read:

“Today’s Goal: Make Someone Smile.”

Every summer after that…

The stand returned.

Not to raise money.

But to give away free lemonade…

To ambulance crews…

Firefighters…

Delivery drivers…

And anyone having a difficult day.

Because sometimes…

The smallest stand on the block…

Serves the biggest reminder:

Kindness always comes back… often from people you’ve never even met.
