Inside the folder…
Were the blueprints for a new community center.
Across the top…
One line was printed.
The Last Two Dollars Foundation.
The young man looked confused.
The visitor smiled.
“After that day…”
“I rebuilt my life.”
“I started a business.”
“Then another.”
“And every year…”
“I searched for the little boy.”
He gently placed the old coffee cup on the table.
“I finally found you.”
“I want you to help me run this.”
The young man’s eyes filled with tears.
“But I only bought one coffee.”
The visitor shook his head.
“No.”
“You bought me…”
“…one more reason to keep living.”
One year later…
The community center opened its doors.
Every person who entered received a free cup of coffee.
Not because they were poor.
Not because they asked.
But because everyone deserves to feel seen.
Above the entrance…
The old paper coffee cup was displayed inside a glass case.
Below it…
A simple message read:
“The smallest act of kindness…
…may become someone else’s reason to begin again.”
