PART 2

The video zoomed in.

It wasn’t the janitor.

It was the student’s private math tutor.

He quietly unlocked the storage room.

Placed the laptop inside the janitor’s locker.

Then walked away.

The student’s father stared at the screen.

“But… why?”

The detective investigating the case answered.

“The tutor had been stealing electronics from several schools.”

“He planned to blame someone who couldn’t defend himself.”

“The janitor was the perfect target.”

The old man simply lowered his eyes.

“I’ve worked here for twenty-eight years.”

“I kept wondering…”

“…when people stopped trusting me.”

The student’s father slowly walked over.

Then, in front of every teacher…

He knelt down.

“I’m sorry.”

“I judged you because your uniform was dirty.”

The janitor helped him back to his feet.

“My uniform is supposed to be dirty.”

“My heart isn’t.”

The following Monday…

The principal called a school assembly.

Instead of honoring the top student…

He honored the janitor.

Holding up a simple broom, he said,

“This school stays clean because of his hands.”

“But today…”

“We learned our hearts need cleaning too.”

The students stood.

Then every teacher.

The applause continued long after the janitor tried to make it stop.
